I do this for my expenses. I don't call them accruals, I annualize them and then break them out again as "monthly" expenses in a pivot table. My problem is that my cashflow doesn't always allow for the funds to be set aside as you do. Fortunately, my feast cycles subsidize my famine cycles and the bills get paid. :)
